Repairative Architectures: Student Work Exhibition was hosted at The Commons in Muizenberg from 9–30 July 2026, bringing together student research, spatial documentation, material experiments, and architectural propositions developed through the Repairative Architectures studio space.
Local stakeholders, residents, collaborators, students, and practitioners were brought into the same room to reflect together on housing, memory, maintenance, coastal change, and the everyday practices of repair that shape this stretch of coast. For students, having their work seen and responded to by the groups of people they had worked alongside was central to the studio’s premise: that architectural research should not conclude in the studio, but return to and be tested against the relationships that made it possible.
Presented as an open and evolving body of work, the exhibition invited ongoing dialogue between local people in Muizenberg and False Bay and the students researching there — a conversation about how architectural research can remain accountable to the people, relationships, and places through which it is produced.
